REVIEW: Milky Dress White Virgin Lip Gel

Hello gorgeous!!

Oh.. the name of this product is surely tempting, at least for me.

For you guys who have natural pinkish lip tone, or just almost skin color lip tone, be grateful for that is one of the most wonderful blessings a girl can get, because having dark lips (or to make it worse, lip line) is sometimes devastating. I, for example, have never left home without lipstick ever since I graduated from high school (wearing make up is restricted at school, if it wasn't I'd probably have started wearing lippies as early as since I was still in elementary school). So when I saw this product, I didn't even look up for review, I just put it to my cart and click purchase straight away!

Sounds promising, but does it really work? Let's just head to Milky Dress White Virgin Lip Gel Review:

Packaging is awful. I like the design, clean white bounce back kind of plastic tube, with metalic cap. But the tube is bigger than the volume of the product, and since it's made of plastic, there's air inside the tube which made it difficult to dispense the right amount of the lip gel, so the product that dispensed tend to be too much than desired. So much waste!
English description is provided on the box, the tube has full Haneul
The inefficient applicator
Scent: no scent I could smell. It just tasted bitter though, which made me kinda afraid since I'm breastfeeding. But seeing from the ingredients, I supposed it's alright.

Texture: as its name, the texture is gel - very nice for my preference and absorbed pretty fast, leaving no visible trace, like a matte lip balm. Lovely.

Performance: I've already been using Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask at the first time I tried it, so my lip color is already a wee more pinkish than before (the lip line is still dark tho), my first impression is the lip gel felt quite comfortable, no tingling, minty sensation whatsoever. I didn't expect Milky Dress White Virgin Lip Gel to moisturize tbh, but it apparently does! Even it doesn't look greasy but my lips weren't chapped when I applied the lip gel, it didn't make my lips super hydrated tho.. but it's more than enough. It did made my lips looked slightly fairer from the first try, but not so much, so my dark lip line are still pretty much visible. Now I've been using this Milky Dress White Virgin Lip Gel for about 2 months, and sadly.. my lip line is still dark as it was back then. I noticed that the lip gel doesn't give brightening effect so much if I didn't use lip sleeping mask the night before. And even when it brightened my lips, it were only for the inner part, which made my lip line even more visible. The result isn't permanent either, when I don't apply it, my lips get back to its original dark color. Well, it's still acceptable due my dark lips are caused by genetics, maybe it can't be changed and I just need to embrace them.

Pro(s):
+cheap
+moisturizing, chapped lips-free!
+non greasy
+no paraben & alcohol
+gives a wee-temporary brightening effect

Con(s):
-tastes bitter
-inneficient applicator
-not so easy to find (besides Althea, I haven't seen other olshop sell it)
-doesn't work with lip line

Verdict: Milky Dress Lip Gel is moisturizing enough with matte finish, so it is a good choice if you're looking for lip base before liquid or matte lippies with extra benefit (brightening). However, I think the brightening result may not that noticeable for dark lips caused by genetics.

Repurchase: Maybe, since it's very cheap and have temporary (and slightly) brightening effect. But I'd rather buy matte lip balm which doesn't taste bitter and lasts longer.

Price: IDR 50k something (If I'm not mistaken)

Where to buy: Althea (order through this link to get a total of IDR 115.000 referral credits, for the first time user!)

Love,
