Hello gorgeous,
I don't know why or how, but since I moved to the Netherlands, I got breakouts, badly. Worse than puberty *sobs*. I've tried using less skin care products, cutting dairy intake, taking break from make up, but the pimples are keep coming back I am so frustated.
Then I remember that I still have unopened B&Soap Apate Black Pack that I bought around last year. So I thought it is the perfect time to use it as the bentonite clay might help me to cleanse those excess oil and dirt which hopefully will stop those pimples from appearing on my face. Did it work? Well.. Here's my B&Soap Apate Black review:
"Removes sebum and restores vitality and energy.
South Korea Oak Charcoal purifies clogged pores.
Moisturizes skin all day long.
Smooths skin elasticity.
Absorbs excess oil without drying out the skin."
How to use: Apply to cleansed, dry skin, use spatula or hand, avoiding the eye and lip area. Leave on for five to ten minutes and rinse with tepid water. Can be used twice times a week.
Main Ingredients: Charcoal Powder, Marine Collagen, Caulerpa Lentilifera Extract, Olive Oil, Hyaluronic Acid
Source: Kosbeauty
Packaging: it comes with a box and the product itself is wrapped in a black plastic jar, reminds me a lot of L*sh packaging, even the design is also pretty similar imo. However, I still like it. Both the box and the jar were sealed with sticker. The product comes with small spatula so it's quite hygienic. It's 130g and the jar is a bit bulky so it's not very travel friendly. It has English description on both the box and the tube, but unfortunately the directions are only described on the carton box, so if you're about to throw the box, just remember that you've got to rinse it off no more than 10 minutes.
Scent: It has fresh scent, with a hint of mud. I still preferred it's formulated without fragrance.
Texture: this thick, black, clay mask kinda reminds me of gelato lol, or play doh. it's thick but still spreadable.
Performance:
The 1st time I used B&Soap Apate Black Pack, I forgot to read the instruction and the box was nowhere to be found. When I just spreaded the pack on my face, it stung the corner of my nose a bit, then my baby cried and I just casually breastfed her until she got back to her sleep which took around half an hour. Then I washed my face, and found the box in my living room and got a bit scared when it stated that I should only wait 5-10 mins lol. However, it didn't dry my skin out, my face looked less oily, brighter, felt fresh and clean, but not dry at all. The next morning, I noticed a pimple that was angry yesterday got DRIED. while my face feels moisturized. WOW.
So I tried to use it regularly, I used it 1-2x a week in the first month, but now I only use it after I had a full make up on, because I don't have so much left and don't feel like to spend any to buy a new one lol.
The result though, not as surprising as the first try, perhaps the pimple got dried bcs I left the mask too long lol. But I can admit the mask makes my skin feels clean, looks brighter and help to fasten the active pimpled to dry. So is my face better now? Unfortunately no, B&Soap Apate Black doesn't help to prevent further acnes attack.
But I still like it to use the pack after a full make up day and double cleansing, just to ensure there's no make up residue left. I once read a blogger whined that B&Soap Apate Black Pack is difficult to rinse, it is true, but I use the help of cleansing sponge or microfiber cloth with running warm water and it's no longer a problem ^_^v
Here's the comparison:
Pro(s):
+ Helps to control the sebum, but still moisturizing
+ Calm down (sometimes even dry out) & diminish the active pimples
+ Brighten the skin
+ Refresh the skin & make it feel clean
+ Cute packaging
+ Quick waiting time
+ non-irritating
+ Besides fragrance & olive oil, the ingredients seem great
Con(s):
- Contains Fragrance
- doesn't prevent new acne
- Not easy to find in Indonesia and the Netherlands
Verdict: I like this product because it makes my face feel clean, helps to control the sebum without drying the skin and calm down the pimples, which eventually helps to diminish the pimples. But I don't love it enough to repurchase because it formulated with fragrance and didn't prevent new acnes from appearing.
Repurchase: no, looking for another clay mask with better ingredients
