Review: Babor Travel Set & Babor Indonesia Event Report with Clozette Indonesia

Have you heard about BABOR? BABOR is a high end skin care & cosmetics brand from Germany that has been existed since 61 years ago! The first time I noticed about the brand was when I got a sample of its facial peeling from a beauty box subscription, I tried and liked it but decided not to buy the full size since I still got loads of peeling stock at home. So when I got invitation to BABOR Indonesia event (thanks to Clozette Indonesia) at La Madame Kopitiam last month, I was excited to try more products.

In the event, me and fellow clozetters followed a skin care demo with BABOR Skinovage line which is an anti aging series designed for women from 25 y.o., the representative from BABOR told us 25 is the perfect age to start with anti-aging skin care.

Then we went home with a trial set of BABOR Skinovage line consisting of facial cleansing Hy öl & Phytoactive Base, Vita Balance Oxygen Energizing Cream, Sun Care System SPF 20, and Energizing Lime Mandarin Invigorating Shower Gel.

Here goes the review:

Cleansing Hy öl & Phytoactive Base

Description

BABOR has combined the natural cleansing powers of water and oil and developed a unique bi-phase deep-action cleanser. Made from pure plant oils including soybean, sesame, and peanut. Quillaja extract intensifies the cleansing action without causing tightness. Vitamin E helps protect against environmental aggressors.

Effect

Promotes skin vitality. Pure, natural oils derived from soybeans, sesame and peanuts in combination with the appropriate Phytoactive for your skin type remove both oil- and water-soluble dirt particles thoroughly yet gently, without leaving the skin feeling tight. Quillaja extract acts as a dirt magnet and promotes the cleansing effect.

Benefit

When combined with a phytoactive our iconic bi-phase cleansing system provides a gentle yet effective deep cleanse without drying the skin and perfectly tailored to your skin type.

Application

Apply 4 pumps of HY-ÖL to the skin (do not moisten the skin beforehand), then smooth 2 pumps of Phytoactive on top of it. Using moistened fingers, massage into the skin until a milky emulsion is forms. Rinse off thoroughly with plenty of cool water.

Impression:

Since it's the first cleansing step but it has 2 steps in it, it's kinda more time consuming, the effectiveness is okay. The part that I love is how my skin feels after cleansing, so soft and supple, it's ready to absorb the next skin care steps! I got informed that no matter how good and expensive, if we don't properly cleanse our face beforehand then it won't work anyhow. So this duo cleansing is important!

Vita Balance Oxygen Energizing Cream

Description

A light, moisturizing and vitalizing cream with encapsulated oxygen.

Effect

Oxygen Energizing Cream is suitable for any dull skin that is lacking in moisture, energy

and freshness. The light moisturizing cream leaves the skin looking plumper and smoother,

with a fresh, rosy glow.

Benefit

Encapsulated oxygen gives the cells renewed energy. Polysaccharides und NMFs are

intensely moisturizing. OsmoTec restores the osmotic balance in the cells, thus increasing

hydration levels in the skin. Alpine stem cells protect against visible signs of aging.

Application

Apply to the face, neck and décolleté, mornings and/or evenings, after cleansing. Use as a

24-hour moisturizing cream or as a day cream in combination with Argan Nourishing Cream

or Lipid Intense Cream as a night cream.

Impression:

This moisturizing cream has white, semi-thick cream texture. It’s scentless. I really love the cream, eventhough I used to wear lotion or gel kind of moisturizer but this cream is surprisingly feels light and once it's absorbed into the skin there's no greasy film whatsoever. The moisturizing power is good, I use it while I'm in Europe and the air is quite dry but my skin still feels soft and well moisturized.

Sun Care System SPF 20

Description

High Protection Sun Cream SPF 20 is a pleasant, light sunscreen with a high sun protection

factor.

Effect

High Protection Sun Cream SPF 20 is an ideal facial sunscreen for sensitive skin, including

children’s skin.

Benefit

UVA and UVB filters and the SKIN PROTECTION COMPLEX (SPC) boost the skin’s

natural defenses against UV rays, which cause cell damage. At the same time, the SPC

protects against light-induced premature skin aging and promotes the regeneration process

after sun exposure.

Application

Apply sunscreen liberally before sun exposure. Applying an insufficient amount of

sunscreen will reduce the level of sun protection (i.e. the SPF) indicated. Reapply fre

quently in order to maintain protection, especially after perspiring, swimming or drying off

with a towel.

Impression:

sun screen is a must, especially when we use anti-aging skin care. At the event, I got information that unless we're being exposed by extreme sunlight (like when we're at the beach), SPF 20 is enough for daily use. BABOR Sun Care System SPF 20 is convenient to wear because it has no white cast and feels pretty light on the skin. However, it still creates a greasy film (I guess every sunscreen does)

Ampoule Concentrates Revitalizing Oxygen Fluid

Description

An active concentrate for tired and stressed skin.

Effect

Skin feels energized and protected.

Benefit

Encapsulated oxygen helps to vitalize the skin and promote a more rejuvenated

appearance. At the same time, an anti-polution effect helps to protect against environmental

stressors and lends the complexion a youthfully fresh appearance.

Application

Use after cleansing with BABOR CLEANSING products. Shake the ampoule and wrap a

tissue around its neck. Hold the ampoule firmly, and with a sharp movement snap it open at

the lower, colored ring. Alternatively, use the enclosed ampoule opener. Pour the fluid into

the palm of your hand and smooth evenly over the face, neck and décolleté. Pat gently into

the skin before applying a moisturizing cream.

Impression:

the texture is similar to emulsion, it's light white liquid, runny and very much spreadable. Absorbs fastly to the skin and leaving it soft, supple, and hydrated without making it greasy whatsoever. This should be used either 7, 14 or 21 days depending on our skin condition and the result. I tried only 1 ampoule when my skin was dry, I got prickling sensation and it feels tacky upon application but once it's completely absorbed my skin feels like procelain lol. I like it that it's packaged for single use so the ingredients are fresh and more effective.

Energizing Lime Mandarin Invigorating Shower Gel

Description

Invigorating Shower Gel refreshes the skin and contains a vitalizing fragrance made from

fruity mandarin and tangy citrus lime.

Effect

The shower gel is ideal for daily use.

Benefit

Invigorating Shower Gel with a champagne cell stem extract exclusive to BABOR and a

vitalizing composition of fruity mandarin and tangy citrus lime cleanses the skin thoroughly

and reawakens your senses.

Application

Use this shower gel daily to cleanse and invigorate the skin.

Impression:

This one is perfect for countries with high humidity, I say, since it keeps my skin moisturized but doesn't leave greasy film at all like my moisturizing soap does. It also has refreshing scent which makes it great for morning shower.

Verdict: I am quite satisfied with BABOR travel set products, especially Vita Balance Oxygen Energizing Cream. At the event I also have tried some of their make up product and fell in love with their foundation. I personally love the quality and philosophy of the brand, in the near future I might visit their store to seek another skin care products that suit my sensitive-acne prone skin (and purchase the full size of Vita Balance Oxygen Energizing Cream maybe?) :)
