Review: Schwarzkopf Freshlight Foam Color in Berry Ash

Sooo.. I finally able to write for my second blog post (so sorry for being busy, you know.. I got exams, work, and wedding, so I survived last 6 months living almost as a Zombie).

It’s about my first hair dye experience which was happened in the mid of February ’15.

Here you go:

I love the color just right!!

Well it’s not like the very first hair dye, I have done a dye loooong time ago, maybe in 2005 or 2006 –I was still in high school & my friend helped to amateur-ly highlight my hair with pink color (I know, but I was still in highschool and it was considered cool!). But since it happened 10 years ago, so my hair is now a -dye- virgin.

I wanted to dye my hair since the end of ’14, but my fiancé (was) didn’t agree. He thought because I’m skinny and my skin is not that fair, light color hair won’t suit me. So I kinda go back and forth telling my fiancé that I want to dye my hair until the fortune finally smiled at me when we were having a meeting for our pre-wedding photo-shoots, my make up artist suggested me to dye my hair (YAYY!!).

Since our wedding budget is tight, I don’t have extra to spend at salon. So I searched over the internet and saw so many bloggers raved about bubble hair color, and almost every result looked amazing. Again, lucky me.. when I went to Guardian, I found that Schwarzkopf Freshlight was having a 30% off, so I went home with Schwarzkopf Freshlight Berry Ash.

Just a short tips, on what you need to prepare:

• Tissues, keep it as reachable as possible. You will need them if the bubble drips to your skin.
• Mirror, a big one. So you can spread the bubble evenly to your hair.
• Old shirt, in my case I wore no clothes and wrapped my upper body with laundry plastic bag hehe.. So the mess wouldn’t get to my clothes.
• Remove your glasses, softlenses & jewelries. Well, I don’t know whether it could stain jewelries.. but, better to bring umbrella before it’s raining, right? ;)
• Put on the pump cap before shaking the mixed developer & hair color, otherwise it’ll get ugh.. messy!
• Your hair should be perfectly dry, and not oily. So if you have oily scalp and planning to dye your hair in the morning, wash your hair the night before.
• Make sure you take a look at the color chart on the box before you dye your hair, different hair color will get different result.

Ok.. let’s move on to the process! I apologize for the low res pics from using iPhone cam ^^;

The waiting times is around 20-30 minutes, but I followed a tip from femaledaily forum, first I applied half of the product evenly and wait around 10-15 mins, then I applied the remaining half and wait again for another 20 mins.

Washing time! I shampooed my hair twice and applied the after color treatment. It felt soo soft!

After blow drying:

Dry your hair perfectly, just to prevent from drip mess. I feel like my hair is way softer than before, I believe it was from the treatment!

Final result:

I loooooveee it! The color even suits my -first- hair extension (brown from 7-Revo). At first the color seemed uneven, as though I got burned root. But day after day, the color became just perfect!

+ The product contains more than enough for my medium long hair.

+ Lovely & even color (the color gets better by days)

+ Makes your hair soft

+ Easy to find

+ Cheap

Con(s):

- Strong ammonia smell

- Doesn’t have lots of color variants, unlike other brand
